Chris & Jemima are both qualified fitness instructors having completed certification courses for personal training at the Australian Institute of Fitness. We have been in the fitness industry for more than 3 years and have had loads of industry experience in one of Australia's most demanding fitness regions - Brisbane!

We love fitness and it's something that we are passionate about helping others achieve. Whether it is weight loss, muscle growth, or just getting leaner and more toned, we are experienced at providing results in these areas through both personal (one-on-one) training and our fun, fitness bootcamps!

We actually have a number of options available for people wanting to make some seriously positive changes in their lives. We have bootcamp packages to suit everyone, including:

  • 4 Week Challenge - For both men and women of all age & fitness level. You will feel fitter, healthier, stronger and will start shedding some kg's with this bootcamp.
  • "VIP" Bootcamp Challenges - For those with larger or more serious goals, our VIP packages include both bootcamps and regular personal training sessions (1-on-1) so that yosu get the most out of your health and fitness... FAST!

 

Other Ways To Stay Fit, Lose Weight and Lean Up...

1. Go jogging or do your own exercise - This is great and seems perfect at first - Just exercise everyday for a few months and you will achieve your goal in no time - a leaner, fitter, healthier YOU! The trouble is, it can be very hard to stick to and you might not be doing the best kinds of exercises to get what you want. Our bootcamps integrate all types of exercises designed to help you lose weight, get more muscle tone and have a tighter, firmer body in no time!

2. Join a gym - Byron has a few gyms around the place and you could well stay fit by joining a gym and attending classes. This is good if you're motivated enough to stick to the program! It would also most likely cost more than any of our bootcamp challenge classes.

3. Hire a personal trainer - This is a popular option and is getting more and more popular all the time. 8 Benefits of Exercise

1. Decreases Risk of Type II Diabetes

Because strength training promotes the increase of lean muscle mass, the uptake of blood sugars into he muscle cell will also be increased, therefore reducing the incidence of diabetes. Type II diabetes is directly related to being overweight and strength training also provides an increase in your metabolic rate which helps in the reduction of fat mass.

2. Releases Happy Hormones!

In a study of 32 men and women who suffered from chronic depression, Nalin Singh, M.D. and Tufts University associates divided the individuals into two groups. Half performed strength training, while the other half received health information.

After three months, 14 of the 16 members who lifted weights felt better and no longer met the criteria for depression. A Harvard study also showed that 10 weeks of strength training reduced clinical depression symptoms more successfully than standard counseling alone.

3. Helps You Age Gracefully

As you age, muscle mass decreases (if you're not working to preserve it), which can cause skin to sag in not-so-pretty ways. By strength training, you can fight age-related muscle loss and maintain a more youthful physique.

4. Reduces Sleep Difficulties

Ten people in Dr. Singh's strength training group (see above) also reported sleep difficulties at the start of the study. After 12 weeks, six of the 10 reported they no longer had trouble sleeping—they fell asleep more quickly, slept more deeply, awakened less often and slept longer.

5. Decreases Blood Pressure

Research indicates that strength training will significantly reduce blood pressure, thereby reducing the chances of hypertension and cardiovascular disease.

This is partly because strong muscles require less effort to perform daily activities. Less effort means less effort for your heart, which reduces blood pressure.

6. Increases Metabolism

Research reveals that adding 1.4kg of muscle increases resting metabolism by 7%, burning an extra 150 – 300 calories per day, thus increasing your metabolic rate. Strength training programs can increase resting metabolic rates by up to 2% in just 10 weeks!

Without strength training, muscle tissue will be lost with aging and metabolic rates can decrease by 2% per decade.

7. Increases Joint Strength & Stability

It is the skeletal muscles that hold the skeleton together at its joints. Therefore joint strength and stability is dependent upon the muscles ability to control the two adjoining bones in their correct position during normal posture and movement. If the muscles are strengthened in a functional manner, then the stability of joints will be greatly enhanced – thus reduced chance of injury and degenerative joint disease, such as arthritis.

8. Improves Posture

It is the muscles of the body that hold and stabilize the bones and joints of the skeleton – including the spine. When you increase your functional strength, you will increase your body's posture at rest and during movement. This will provide a body that is more efficient at everyday tasks, with reduced stresses placed on body structures.
